So, I am going to start this blog out by answering the question asked by every single person when I told them I was moving from Bowmanville, ON to Battleford, SK for the whole summer.
Any person from back home: So what are your summer plans?
Me: I am going to nanny in Battleford, SK!
Them: ...Saskatchewan... why...?
My answer has remained consistent: I had the opportunity, I wanted to nanny somewhere, so why not?
And let me tell you, it has been quite wonderful so far, but to appreciate what I am telling you, you must throw all of the preconceptions of flat, wheat field lands out of your head. Because Battleford, SK is full of rolling hills, trees, rivers, valleys, and there are even stores! GASP!
Saskatchewan, the forgotten province is one of the most beautiful places I have been to. The highways are free of 401-style traffic, the people are nice, the air is clean, and the sky goes on forever. Oh, and it isn't cold even though it is far more north than the GTA.
As for my adventures, I will leave you now with this introduction as I work on writing my adventures down!
Just remember, Saskatchewan... Why not?!
